FAQs
  • What are your favorite brushes?
  • Real Techniques, Sigma and MAC
  • Do you go tanning?
  • No I do not. My natural skintone is very fair and I burn easily. I haven't been to a tanning salon in years. I do enjoy spray tanning, but now prefer to self tan at home. I review self tanners quite often here on Purple Shampoo.
  • What shades are you in _____?
  • Laura Mercier Silk Creme (Bamboo Beige, Beige Ivory, Medium Ivory), L'Oreal True Match (W4, W5), Nars Sheer Glow (Fiji, Punjab), MAC NC20-NC30
  • Are you going to make a YouTube Channel?
  • No, I have no plans to create a YouTube Channel...sorry!
  • Is blogging your job?
  • Nope. I have a full time 9-5 type job. I like to think of blogging as my "side project"
  • Do you work with companies?
  • I do. I am PR friendly and have worked with beauty brands. I always indicate whether or not a product was sent to me for review. I only work with companies who want me to feature products that are relevant to Purple Shampoo (ie beauty related). At this time, I do not do sponsored content. I also do not do paid reviews. Likewise, all of my reviews will showcase honest content. Please see note above and disclaimer below for details. If you are a company looking for me to feature your product, you can email me at purpleshampooblog@gmail.com

  2. Hello Carly!

I NEVER read blogs, never wrote one, and don't care for them, but yours is truly awesome. I have enjoyed every product review thoroughly and wanted to thank you for testing out all the foundations you do (i am obsessed with foundation). But you are my soul mate, as you are obsessed with NUDE lipstick. Especially Revlon Lip Butter in Creme Brule. It's like i found my soul mate. A similar lipstick is by BUXOM in "Nudist" if you want to try it, but nothing seems to compare to Creme Brule. Why that makes me sad, Is I find it doesn't LAST...as most lip butters and nude colors tend not to last. Do you know any Nude Lipsticks like Creme Brule that can be long-lasting? keep writing this fantastic blog. Love it.

    1. Hi Janet! Wow thank you for the compliments. I'm so flattered! My favorite nude lipsticks besides revlon creme brûlée are: MAC Viva La Glam Gaga 2, Maybelline Color Whispers Bare To Be Bold, NYX Circe & Summer Love, and Revlon Sparkling Cider. I find while these are still nude lipsticks, they are easier to pull off. Hope that helps :)
